Objectives:

Following Session One participants will be able to

  • explain the origin of PMP programs in the United States and the history of the MN PMP.
  • have a greater understanding of how, when, and what dispensation data arrives in the PMP
  • describe access and restriction to MN PMP data, and when it is permissible and appropriate to utilize the database in their clinical practice.
  • understand and effectively comply with statute requirements related to the prescription monitoring program.
  • access and utilize tools and resources available to prescribers of controlled substances, provided by the Minnesota Prescription Monitoring Program.
